Accorcing to the MAFCA Paint & Finish Guide, these parts were either dipped or sprayed with black paint.The dipped parts were glossy (but not rubbed out) and the sprayed parts were no more than a moderate gloss.Large parts, or those which would retain paint (like the generator) were sprayed, and smaller parts dipped.Where this gets a little confusing is that the entire chassis was sprayed after assembly to "touch-up" any damage to the paint, so some dipped parts were oversprayed with paint following assembly.No spraying was done after the engine was installed.This guide has a detailed and fascinating description of the painting and assembly process and is available from MAFCA headquarters.
