: I have a '28 A Sport Coupe with a leaking Zenith Carb.To try to stop the leak I have done the following:
: 1. Rebuilt the carb. with a carb kit including a new Grosejet
: float valve, jets, and gaskets.
: 2. Rebuilt the fuel shut-off valve by reseating the cone with valve grinding compound, cleaning, and a new packing gasket.
: Gas leaks even if the shut-off valve is closed. It seems to come from a weep hole in the bottom of the carb. near the choke plate. It does not come from the overflow hole in the fuel bowl.Could it be related to float adjustment or height of the main jet & jet cap within the venturi?Should I try a different type of float valve?Any suggestions will be appreciated!

Dave,
I had this happen to me. I finally discovered that I had cracked the cap jet where the pipe meets the hex. The engine ran fine, but the carb bowl drained through the crack when I shut it down. A new jet and a more cautious approach solved the problem.
Best regards from Maine, Eric
