Going rates vary from place to place; I saw an ad for a nice 1930 coupe body complete less deck lid for $850 (in California) ... I bought a 31 SW Fordor body recently for $500 (in Oregon) that's a rusty relic.
I guess the answer is "it depends." I'd say $1000 should bring a pretty restorable sedan body, and perhaps $750 or so for a truck cab. Anything less would be a very good deal.But I've seen higher prices too.
