Yeah -
seems like - if you're going to choose one method, Gas is the one that does it all.I like the control you have with sheet metal, and with the "A" sheet being as robust as it is, warpage isn't near the problem it is with modern iron.

For non-critical stuff, you can't beat wire coat-hangers for rod - they even have a nice anti-corrosive protective coating - I believe they call it paint.I use 1/8" mild steel gas welding rod for fender bead wire.

I like not having to wear real dark eye protection, makes it easier in tight places, and you can't get a sunburn from acetylene.
