The front spring is not very difficult to replace. You need to place jack stands on the frame to support the front of the car. Then remove the front wheels, disconnect the shock links and brake rods at this time also.Place your floor jack under the front axle and remove the 4 nuts and plate that hold the spring against the front crossmember. Now lower the axle on to the ground.Remove one shackle at a time by using a punch and a hammer to knock them out.The front spring is not under any pressure like the rear spring is, so it will not go anywhere.Do the same to the other shackle and your spring should be loose from the axle.If you want to take the spring apart, just put a c-clamp over the spring and loosen the nut and bolt. Then undo the c-clamp.One important note when putting the spring and axle back in the car, is to make sure the head of the bolt fits into the hole in the cross member. It keeps the front axle from sliding around under the car.Good luck.
