Hi Murray.Tim's answer was correct, but let me summarize

Your 1928 roadster's engine number CA 28562 indicates two things:
The "CA" prefix means it was produced in Canada
The "28562" is simply a sequential number assigned to the engines that were produced.According to research by Steve Pargeter, your engine was produced in July of 1928.Your car was then assembled with that engine slightly later, perhaps August or September.

Many assembly plants stamped the assembly date on the firewall.On US cars with left hand drive, the number was stamped on near the seam between the upper and lower halves on the steering column side.You may have to look closely as the numbers weren't stamped very deep and paint and grime make it hard to find.
