All Model A frames are interchangeable with the exception of the AA trucks. That is to say the frame on your '28 Roadster will fit under my 31 Fordor and under his '30 Coupe. Henry was smart that way. Thus the bumper to bumper length will be virtually the same, added accessories not withstanding.

As far as how much room you need for a workshop. Build to the legal limits of your property and... you'll soon be stumbling over the parts. My shop is 12 x 50 with half for stall and half for tools and workbench and storage and it was cramped the day I finished it. A good for instance is installing the windshield hinge onto the header then sliding the windshield in place. NOCANDO in my shop, to narrow.

If you are going to do a body off you need at least two car lengths either in tandem or side by side. My shop is obviously a tandem setup which I think is the least desirable. Hard to handle the body and other heavy components without some sort of overhead hoist arangement, which is expensive. I have a rather large hydraulic engine hoist/crane that can be used to remove the body but regardless of how I plan the dam thing is always at the wrong end. My next project is a set of horses built on track rollers so I can open the door and roll what ever is in the way out onto the apron for a little breathing room. I had a choice of 20 x 20 or 12 x 50 and fear I made the wrong choice. Can you move a house.....

God Speed Under 50.

The Model A Fool.

: I am looking for measurements of Model A bodies from bumper to bumper. Does anyone know the overall lengths of Coupes, Tudors, Fordors and Town Cars etc.My garage is new and I am setting up a shop to work on the cars. How much room do I need to store the Model A's ?

: Thanks for any Replys
