The final authority on this question is not the judging Standards nor any other publication. I just ripped into one of Henry's originals, a '31 Sport Coupe that was a true virgin, and it had fender welt at the rear fenders, old fender welt. It will be back on the road by Christmas, God willing and the creek don't rise.

The Model A Fool.

: My 31 sport coupe was dismantled when I bought it. I have been cleaning, fixing, painting, replacing missing parts and reassembling for about a year now and it's starting to look like a car finally.

: Now my question. I want to put the rear fenders on but the indentation on the body that they fit into is pretty deep. The fender welt that I bought is about an inch and a half wide. My problem/question is that if the bead on the welt should be at the edge of the body, then it will not be wide enough to go in toward the body and wrap down around the fender to the fender studs so it can be fastened on. What am I doing wrong!?!

: Nothing harder then trying to do something you didn't undo in the first place.
