Tool Sets

A call this morning from a fellow who had purchased one of my tool sets prompts me to post this clarification.

He said that I had mis-represented the condition of the tools, that they were not "restored" but simply painted.

He is right. Simply painted. After having been power tool cleaned to SSPC 2 or better, coated with a clear protective coat that requires 36 hour of drying then being painted with black enamel. I do not restore the tools, I repair as best I can if need be but it is impossible to "restore" a tool and preserve the historical perspective.

However, as I explained to the caller, if it's a restored tool you want I have just the thing and it's for sale I assure you.
The tool I refer to is the very ax that old Abe Lincoln hisself used to split rails. The very one... and it is restored, I replaced both the head and the handle just last year. Anyone wishing to purchase this ax gets first chance at some beach front property in Yuma, Arizona.
