: Found two stripped studs on rear hub.Can it be repaired by removing old studs and pressing in new ones or do you have to start with new hub? Thanks

Bob,
This spring I replaced all four brake drums with new cast iron .I had to replace all the studs.I used the swedging tool sold by Snyders and at first had the problem of the tool binding on the stud after pressing at about 15-20 tons. The secret is to grease the stud and the internal bore of the swedging tool before pressing each stud.I didn't think this could possibly help but it did.If you don't feel up to the challenge take the hubs, drums and new studs to a good brake shop (not one of the chain stores) and they will have no problem fixing you up.

Best regards,
Steve
