: Hi guys and gals.. : Was thinking the other night how beneficial this Model A Page really is.There have been many excellent questions by experienced Model Ayers and newcomers alike, and objective answers are always given by those who are knowledgeable in the hobby or have experienced the particular problem. : Then an idea came to me that I would like to submit to you for your consideration. : The idea is in the form of a proposal to all the regulars and newcomers to this Page. : Consider meeting at a central location next summer for a couple of days to share our Model A experiences and solutions to problems. There could be a question and answer session, either through submitted ones, or just during the session. : There could be Technical sessions by volunteers that have expertise in certail areas, and possibly "hands on" things. : Those who could drive their As would be encouraged to do so. : I'm sure this idea will result in more ideas and hope there is some positive interest and critique that could result in a rare experience. Those who are connected with the National Magazines could prepare an after meeting article that : The above is certainly an idea that will require a lot more thought, but I wanted to get your initial, objectivereactions, positive or negative. : Regards.. : Larry Jenkins It's a great idea! I'm a 20+ year Porsche Club of America member recently into the Model A hobby and think that you have hit upon a great idea (and Dale, the best site on the net)! PCA has a few events of this sort every year. Tech Tactitics, which is held in the midwest and a similar event held on the east coast. Both are weekend events. Well known speakers on restoration, preservation and modification are featured and, generally it is a giant question and answer tech session. The events are ALWAYS well attended and very useful. The type of questions are along the lines of of what appears on this board. Lets face it, there are a lot more Model A people than Porsche people, (5 million A's were built). This could work!
