For what it's worth. I've seen several '28 solid crossmembers
at swap meets here in Texas/Oklahoma, so they are around.I remember the last one I saw selling for $50 in good condition. If you want to stay original (which would be the only reason to consider the original mount), you will probably want to rivet the member in place.This is a challenge in itself unless you already have to re-rivet your present member - then it's a wash.
