: My Grandma has an old Model A in her barn in Missouri, The interrior is shot, engine is stuck, tires are flat. The glass is all good and the body is in real good shape. It is a two door and the trunk opens backwards. A fellow offered her 1200.00....Is that a fair offer? I know nothing at all about old cars...could someone please help?
: Thanks Shawn

Shawn,
You've received some good advice. In my opinion a good body (body, doors, trunk lid, hood & fenders) alone is worth 1200 dollars, and I do mean without wheels, engine or even a frame. To give you an idea, I just saw a set of fenders (all four and I think with side mount tire wheel wells) in great condition, already painted and ready to be put on an A ... for $2500. Now parts sold individually are always very expensive (as we all know all too well). But if everything is there, then that should also be taken into effect in determining the asking price of the car. And don't let the motor being stuck be a big factor, it's not a reason to let the car go for much less than it is really worth to someone that wants it. And trust me, if your grandma decides not to sell the car to this person she wouldn't have any problem finding another buyer — RIGHT EVERYONE?!?!
