Shawn,

I agrree with Fred as far as he goes.If your gandmothers car is a coupe and is in "good" condition $1200 is low ($5000 would be high).Things thatmake it desireable (worth more) are good sheet metal, original parts such as wheels, engine, seats, no body modifications, lights, horn, radiator and shell, windshield wiper etc.Shot interior (which is original and complete), stuck engine and flat tires are not major problems. The body style is also very important in determining a price.Since you said it has a trunk it is most likely a coupe but it could be a roadster or a cabriolet (these usually had rumble seats where the trunk would be and can be worth twice as much as a coupe). There are also several different types of coupes. The key to identifing the body style is the top. If it is a convertible then it is a roadster or cabriolet. The cabriolet has roll up windows in the doors and the roadster has snap on curtains. The tops of all copues where partially covered with fabric. The placement of the fabric will help determine the type of coupe.A standard or deluxe coupe will have fabric just on the center top of the car.A special coupe will have the same but extend backwards down pass the rear window.A business coupe will be like the special coupe except the fabric will cover both sides of the window behind the doors (this window is also oval on the buisness coupe). Finally there is the sport coupe which has no side windows behind the doors. Instead that area is covered in fabric and there is a landau arm (non-functional) where the window would be.In general the value would follow the same order that I described the coupes. From least value to greatest it would be standard, deluxe, special, business, sport. There are also issues of the year in which the car was made.A very early car (1927 - early 1928) can be worth much more if it still has all of it's early parts. I guess what I am saying is one would have to see it or have a very detailed description to give an aproximate price. One final note. As others have said if some one wants it bad enoughthey might pay much more than it is worth (some people use their heart and not their head when buying a car).
