Those repro switches are the pits, aren't they?I refuse to use them too.I'm also looking for an original light switch for my '31 SW Fordor, so if I find a second one, I'll keep you in mind. FYI, they're selling for about $10 around the Southern Oregon area.As long as the brass parts inside are in good shape, they're easily cleaned up and reusable.

The only challenge I've found is how to re-cadmium plate them without wrecking the moving parts. The easy way out is to simply paint with aluminum or silver paint (for a touring class car.)Guess for a show car, the three rivets should be punched out and then the disassembled switch could easily be replated and then reassembled.

When you're out looking for an original, used switch, notice that the early switches had a smaller bottom piece than the later ones.I think you might find a picture of them in the MAFCA/MARC Judging Standards and Restoration Guidelines.
