The original vacuum hose was rubberized fabric and was quite large outside diameter and a snug fit in the windshield frame hole.Modern hoses are not ususally as large and you may need to use your imagination to "create"or find a hose more like the original.There was no gasket or felt between the motor and the windshield frame.
