Hello Me Again; Been there, Done that! The matches tip is a good one, also the the mateing surfaces need to be flat. Dress them with a big flat file. I use a piece of aluminum for a gasket and have had no problems or cracked any more outlets. I don't think the thickness of the aluminum is critical I just found a piece close to the gasket thickness, probably 16 ga, quien sabe'.

God speed under 50.

: Hello me again,

: I had the head on my 30 coupe shaved and I put it back on! I started to torque the head to 40 lbs and for some reason the water outlet neck broke at about 30lbs aren't they part of the sequence for torquing down the head!Shouldn't they be torqued at 40 lbs too? I relaced the water neck with a new one and did the same thing! Am I doing something wrong? Could it be the gasket material I am using?
