Tanglefoot Pick-up

Can anyone enlighten me as to what Ford pick-up was nicknamed the "tanglefoot"? I remember seeing one once in a museum in Columbia, S.C., it included a detailed description of how shifting was accomplished (which was the reason for the nickname). Thanks
