: My '28 was running not too good, but it was running and would get me around. So I thought I'd change the points and condenser to see if that made any difference. I set the new points at .016 and set the timing.Nothing else was changed. Now it does not fire at all. What did I overlook? I've gone through it all a couple of times and am puzzled.
: I'd be glad to hear from someone about this.

Peter,
Henry set his points at .018 to .022 with the later being used for new points.Give that a try.
Here is a simple test that I have used over the years to test for spark:
With the points open, ignition switch ON, coil wire removed from distributor top and placed about 1/4 inch from the block, momentarily short the points to ground with a screwdriver.A spark should occur at the coil wire.
Have fun!
Paul
