Hi Matt.The Model A engine is pretty easy to work on and only requires that you have a basic understanding of how everything works together.
If you don't already have a copy of the Model A Ford Service bulletins, I'd recommend you get one.Check with your local Model A supplier.It has lots of good informatiion on tune up and timing instructions that were furnished to Ford dealers when the car was new.Still works today!
There are a couple of other books you might want to look at.A pretty complete list is on the Model A Ford Club of America (MAFCA) web site.
