: Well, I'm almost there - I've got three good '39 drums and backing plates, but still need a rear hub and drum. Just so they match it should be a "Drum outside" type with an inside diameter not exceeding 12 1/32". I also need four brake shoes (round hole type) in good enough condition to be used for cores, and a '46-48 master cylinder.
: What've you got, and whaddya want fer it??

Hi Bob..

Hydraulics is the real way to go.I don't have any of the parts you're looking for, but Lowell Meier from Early Fords in Walker Iowa probably has what you want.319-555-1212 for his phone number.I thought I would pass on what I used for the master cylinder in my 30 coupe.

I got a 39 master cylinder, but it was pretty pitted, so I used a 65 Mustang MS mounted on the back of the "U" shaped crossmember and designed a bellcrank arrangement activated by the brake rod to make it work.By putting it in that location, I cut an access hole just in front of the seat riser in my coupe for servicing. The cylinder also has a pressure switch for the brake lights.Works great.

If you want more info about strengthening the crossmember to handle the forces, E-Mail me.
