Jim,
If your engine was recently rebuilt,the gasket that is on the rear of the engine may have been left out.The rear camshaft bearing is open in this area and the gasket is used to keep the oil from leaking down the rear of the engine to about the rear main bearing area.Let us know what you find and happy hunting.
