: Thanks to Tony Sillman, Mike Flanagan, Doug & Dave for help with my problem. My 1st love are classic Ford Mustangs so the old car is a new challenge for me.Tony: manifold appears to be okMike: Thanks for timing hints, timing has proved to be correct.Doug: BINGO! New condensor seems to be the answer.Dave: I dismantled carb a couple of weeks ago and it checked out.
: Thanks again for the help; I will probably be back for more.My brother passed away from cancer a couple of years ago and I inherited the "A" from him so it holds a lot of sentimental value for me as we spent many hours discussing the various aspects of "A"'s and Mustangs.

Jim,

Thanks for the update on the problem, but at the same time sorry about your brother. I can imagine the conversations that must have come up regarding "A"s and Mustangs. Two great cars in my book.An uncle of mine kinda got me interested in antiques (at a time when I was into Hot Rods) and I remember a conversation with him in the early 70's about what cars to collect, his first word was "Mustang", and the second was "Convertible."Should have bought some :)

As far as similarities with the Model A, my wife owns a little Nash Metropolitan, and if you look at the engine (made by Austin) in it, you would be amazed at the many design similarities...even the exhaust manifold/muffler clamp is the same. Every time I tinker with the "Met" I'm amazed at the similarities.

Anyway, thanks for the update.
Doug
