: Can anyone tell me where to find the serial numbers (V.I.N.) on a 1930 5 window coupe FRAME or BODY?

If the car is together, you need to take the floorboard out and also the left splash shield needs to be pulled back or off as the top lip rests ontop of the number.. also any webbing thats on top of the frame rail. The frame number is stamped to the left top of the frame rail about the area where the clutch/brake pedals like up. You will probably have to clean the area up,, don't us a high speed disc for that job... the numbers were stamped by hand so some may have a deeper impression than the others. The body number is usually on the body cross-rail directly between your legs as you drive,, just lean forward and look directly down.. mine says 5-30 #5593 and LA. Calif and other states use the frame number and not engine numbers fot the title and registration, so take a picture when you get it exposed... if the splash shield is a problem, you might loosen it and try a mirror or playdough for an impression. Hopefully the frame and motor numbers are the same... Body numbers only date the body and where it was made,,, not for id. gary
