I checked with Champion Spark Plug Company in Toledo Ohio this morning on the Champion 44 spark plug. Here's what they said

The Champion 44 is a Commercial Equipment plug used in "old" engines (my guess is from the 20's and 30's). The current equivalent is W89-D, current stock number 589 (yes, they're still available).

A current catalog lists the following engines for the W89-D plug:Ajax, International, Fairbanks, and Morse engines.

Bottom line: definitely NOT for a Model A (or any other passenger or small commercial) engine, but the plugs are probably N.O.S.Suggest an ad in Hemmings Motor news to see if you can sell them. Or, just post a message on this board; maybe some Model A'er will want them just for laughs.

P.S.Champion's Phone number is: 419 535-2567.Ask for Technical Services for assistance with applications.
