12 V Generator Field Winding

1. Has any one out there converted their 6V Model A Generator to 12V by just replacing the windings???

2. You just hook it up with a POsitive Ground andreverse the Coil & Ammeter connections
3. What did you do for a regulator???
4. Where do you buy the parts???
