Joe,
I agree that the answer to the statement on the '32 may have been a bit terse. However, it was true in some respects. No question was asked and the request was not particularly clear. I try to look at both sides. As you say there are people honestly trying to help with their own experience. There are also some experts out there that don't say anything and apparently just sit at their computers and laugh at the "answers" and those that try to be helpful and share their particular knowledge rather than joining in on the discussion and trying to help.
And by the way, I was one of those who suggested a "gizmo" for setting the toe-in.In my 30 years of working on Model A's, there gets to be fewer and fewer "automotive experts" who are willing to work on older cars.Either they don't have any knowledge of Model A's (and don't care to learn because its not profitable to do so) or they don't want to waste their time on one because they are too busy.I know of only one front end alignment shop in the Dallas-Ft. Worth metropolitan area that will willingly work on a Model A and has the expertise to set the front end.It is about 130 miles from me and it is a lot simpler to make a "gizmo" that will easily set it than go several hours, take off work etc.
