: I have a jack that is a ratchet type that screws up.On the outside of the handle is the Ford script. On the inside of the handle (from the best that I can tell) is the marking "MFG. CO. Racine Wis 215" with a sideways 2.I'm not even sure if this is a Model A jack.I know Henry Ford prided himself in being self-sufficient, but I also know he subcontracted quite a bit when the demand for his car went up.The handle on this jack is bent in towards the center. Is this correct or were they straight? What was the original color--mine is a nice shade of rust. Thanks, Leo.

Hi Leo,
Sounds like you have a model T jack. The model T jacks had the Ford logo in the handle.A good picture of the model T jack can be found in the"Model A Ford Restortaion & Maintenance"
handbook by Paul Moller on page 41. The model T jack that I have has a stright handle and it looks like the one in the picture on page 41. To the best of my knowledge the model A jack handles were unmarked. Hope this helps......
