Dean,

There sould be very little if any play in the hinges. The cure depens on how bad the play is.Replacing the pin will work if the old pin is worn but the hinge hole is not worn. You can buy oversize pins and drill out the hinges. What I did was take off the hinge heat it up and 'reforge' the hole by hitting it with a hammer to make the hole smaller, then I drilled it out to standard size and used a stainless steel pin.

: Hi,

: How much play should there be in the Door hinges? Is this just a matter of replacing the hinge pin? My car is a 1931 160B slant windshield four door. Since the doors are currently off and I'm approaching their installation, I thought I'd investigate this!

: Thanks

: Dean
