Mike,
The new gasoline was formulated to reduce emissions.Part of the emissions reductions come from evaprotive losses.Gas is made up of around 500 compounds which all boil at different temperatures. The new gas is suppose to have less compounds that boil a lower temperatures ("heavier").Also note that gas is formulated differently for summer and winter. The summer mix has a higher overall boiling point.
