: Mike, I enjoyed your treatise on fuel for theModel A.One follow up question;do you feel kerosene would have the same effect as adding diesel ?I have enough kerosene sitting around for 2-3 lifetimes at the rate I use it... thanks for your thoughts.Dave.

Dave, Ive gotten so lazy that I now just carry a quart of 30 wt motor oil under the seat and if it's real hot and I start acting up I just dump about this much (fingers about 2 inches apart) into the tank and slosh, slosh away we go. I'm sure a small amount of kerosene would work as well as anything.

I was asked why I thought the gas was boiling. Simple, with the motor shut off I could hear it boiling inside the carb. Some say I'm crazy... maybe so... but it works in Phoenix when it's 120 degrees outside. Come to think of it I must be crazy to drive Mr. Model A when it's that hot... they say it's a dry heat.

God speed under 50.

Mike Flanagan, The Model A Fool.
