I have one of each.My 29 pickup is an original babbit brg engine and my '31 slant is an insert engine.
Both run great.I hope to get more use out of the inserted engine, it is now my tour car. That is why I had the engine inserted.
This may sound strange, but I think the inserted engine actually sounds different.Would like to here other comments as well.
