clutch troubles

The clutch pedal travels a couple of inches before engaging the fingers on the pressure plate even with the trunnion nut tightened all the way.And then the clutch won't release when fully depressed.I replaced the disk and pressure plate and had the flywheel surfaced (both surfaces the same).No change - same problem.No obvious bent levers - my next thought is i may have sheared off the pins that secure the levers to the throwout shaft.Any better thoughts?
