: Any of you out there have any Model A Manifold Cooking Recipies you'd like to share?I've gotten several requests on the Model A Ford Club of America (MAFCA) web site from hungry folks all over the world, so if you have seen one in your Chapter's newsletter, please e-mail me a copy, or send "the old fashioned way" to

Rick,

It's funny you should make this request at this time, since this past weekend our club had two members try some manifold cooking for our picnic.

I can't be sure of all the preparation, but they both cooked beef along with vegetables. The beef was first coated with a layer of mushroom soup (full strength right out of the can) then wrapped in tin foil and put in a small disposable aluminum pan.The idea of the soup was to keep the meat from drying out.It seemed to work. The pan was tied to the manifold with wire.

Driving time was two hours, which was too long.1.5 hours would have been plenty.

The tin foil wrapped veggies were added to another small pan and cooked for a shorter time and they were fine.

The other factor regarding the cooking time was the we were also travelling about 40-45 MPH, at a slowere speed the time may need to be adjusted.

Let us know what you get for recipes as others in our club are now interested in trying it.

Doug

p.s. Have you seen the Manifold Cook Book that is available? It's a small paperback.I was able to borrow a copy some time ago, so I know it is available somewhere.
