Hi.I'm the coordinator for the Deluxe Tudor Owners Group, a special-interest Chapter in MAFCA.Briefly, here are some of the differences between the Deluxe Tudor and the Standard.

First off, the Deluxe Tudor was first offered in mid-1931.As far as I can tell (talking to 60+ owners), all had indented firewalls and cowl lights.A late-31 Standard would have the indented firewall and dealers could have installed the cowl lights.Except for paint, they were otherwise identical on the outside.

Here are the features a Deluxe Tudor would have that a Standard Tudor wouldn't have:
1.Driver's seat was adjustible on tracks.Lift handle at front allowed that seat to move fore and aft.
2.Both front seats had bigger backrests than the Standard seats.
3.Upholstery was either mohair or Bedford cord; not brown check.
4.Window moldings and dash were woodgrained, not simply painted maroon.
5.Gas tank had stripe to match exterior stripe color.
6.Carpets front and rear instead of mats
7.Assist straps, arm rests in the rear passenger compartment
8.Round dome light in center of roof.
9.Exterior paint colors were "deluxe" and similar to the offerings of the Victoria, Deluxe Sedan and Town Sedan.
10. Wheels were not black but painted to compliment the stripe (usually the same color).

Sidemount spare was a dealer-installed option on either model. Painted wheels were probably available on the standard as a dealer option.

There were 1,250,000 Standard Tudors made in 1930-1931.
There were 24,000 Deluxe Tudors made in 1931.

Interestingly enough, I've had some reports from Canadian and European Tudor owners that their 30-31 Tudors have most of the deluxe features (except adjustible driver's seat).Canadian cars are easy to identify because they use Robertson-head screws on the interior trim.

Generally, if your Model A Tudor is a '30 or early '31 with "flat firewall", it's a Standard.

Visit the MAFCA Web Site for additional information about Model A Fords.A photo of my '31 Deluxe Tudor is on the "Album" page.
Hope that answers your questions.
