I have restored four 45B coupes.Walt bratton has a good selection of the body blocks as does Rocky Mountain Wood.It is correct to use the rubber inserts in the block grooves on the frame side to align the body.Body alignment on the $%B is one of the most tedious tasks there are..The blocks should be treated with Penta or some other kind of termite preventative and either a flat black paint or natural stain. The Model A Judging Standards is an excellent source for correctness. Walt Bratton at Bratton's Antique Auto Parts is a good source for the welting. As a restorer, I have had excellent service from Walt.He has a Web page and an outstanding catalog. Roy Naeiscweitz(spelling may be wrong) is the source for correct body bolt replacements. Patience will help your procedure. : : Is there some place that I can get info on how the blocks and webbing should be installed, as well as the welting around the fenders and gas tank??? : : beckdale@cdsnet.net : Dale, I would suggest you get a copy of the How to Restore Your Model A series from MAFCA. You can check their web site for the books. AlsoThe Model A Frod as Henry Built it will be a great help. The frame webbing is very thin. The blocks, with rubber pads are perpendicular to the frame and their exact location for your body will be in either book. There are rubber pads only, no block, at the front body bolt at firewall which when raised will correct the hood alignment. Good Luck, Jim |
