: Just completed my 30 Coupe, and I'm ready to take the "test drive".Does anyone out there know of a good way to adjust the toe-in of the front tires?I am assuming my axle and other components are to factory specifications. (Yeah, I know, that's like "Military Intelligence").Thanks..

Larry-
Congrats on the completion of your coupe.
Here is how I do the toe in adjustment with stuff
I have around the shop.
1. Put the front of the car on jackstands.
2. Then you have to mark the tires on the tread while
you rotate the tire around. Put a block of wood
on the floor next to the tire and then hold a nail
(if the tire is dusty) or carpenters pencil against
the tire while you rotate it around, notch the wood
to hold the pencil steady. Drawing the line this way
will compensate for bent wheels and irregular tread.
These will be the lines you use to measure the toe in.
3. Measure the lines on the front of the tire about
hub cap level and compare it to the measurement at
the rear of the tire. I always shoot for 1/8" plus
or minus 1/16" closer in the front than in the rear.
4. To adjust toe in loosen the tie rod ends and turn
the tie rod with some channelocks, or a small pipe
wrench.
5. I always have someone help me hold the tape to
take the measurement. I have them hold their side
on the 1" mark rather than try to hold the end of
the tape on the line. This should help make the
measurements more consistent.
Hope that helps,
-DAN
