The correct method is to paint the car (and the pin) after the doors are 'pinned' to the cab.However it sounds like you do not have that option. There are basically two options, pound them in or press them in. Pounding will most likely mess up the paint.So I would try pressing in the pins.You can use a C clamp to do the pressing. To keep the paint from getting messed up use a small block of hardwood on top of the hinge pin and another underneath the hinge. Drill a hole in the one underneath the hinge for the pin as it seats.You can also drill a hole in the block of wood for the top of the hinge pin and then round it out to fit the head of the pin. It might also help to put a piece of soft leather between the top of the hinge pin and the block of wood.If all else fails pound that sucker in and then repaint the pin.
