Steve,
Welcome back to Model A dom. Brattons Antique Auto Parts has a large selection of Model A parts including a reprinted owners manual. His part number is A91003-A and his toll free number is 1-800-255-1929 and be sure to ask for a copy of his new catalog.
The lever on the left of the steering column is the spark advance/retard while the one on the right is the hand throttle.
The choke/gas adjusting valve is located under the gas tank on the passenger side. The choke is actuated by pulling the rodout towards you and the gas adjusting valve is closed by turning clockwise. Be sure not to over tighten this when closing as it may damage the valve or seat. About one quarter turn open is the normal range for this puppy.
Good luck with your return to the hobby. I would suggest that you find a local Model A club and join one or both of the national clubs. Both MAFCA and MARC have their own web pages.
Dave.
