Larry,
Sorry the fan usually can not come off without at least lossening the radiator support rods and tilting the radiator forward. You might also have to remove one end of the upper radiator hose.You should make sure that you some how mark the radiator support rod so they are adjusted the same when you put them back or the hood will be missaligned.
