Larry,
There are not bad questions only bad answers.
Simple test. Remove the fan belt, if the sound goes away you found the problem. To check that it is the fan and not the pump remove the fan and run the car with the fan belt connected.If the sound is still there it was not the fan.
Also check that the fan is mounted correctly on the pump shaft, you could have a problem with the 'key' which would cause the fan to run off center.Good luck.
