Greg,

I will put in my 2 cents. The Model A is one of the most available pre WWII cars around. It is also the most reasearched. There are people (judges) that can not only tell the difference between an original running board bolt they can tell you which way the nut faced and what the finish was on the washer. The point here is what one person calls 'restored' is not what another person would call it.If you are looking to restore a Model A for 'show' then the cost can be very high.If you are willing to spend time (thousands of hours) and you have the skills you can save a lot of money. However if your idea of a restored car is one that looks nice and runs well then the cost can be much less. You should be able to get a good driver for less than $10,000.A good unrestored car can sometimes be found for under $5,000.Some prices for restoring are engine $1500 to $3000, New brakes and drums $750 to $1500, New shocks and links $400 to $750.These are prices for bolt on parts. If you can do the work yourself the price can drop.Join the clubs and get some books and catalogs. I have included a link below to a list of Model A parts houses. Good luck

Bob
