Old Family Car Model A or Model T?

I'm hoping someone can help identify an old family car from my
childhood.It was either a Model A or a Model T.It was a dull
ugly black, had running boards,grayish-brownish upholstery that
was very scratchy against bare legs, four doors, four side
windows.Either side of the hood could be raised independently
It had to be cranked before it would start and Mama reminded
Daddy to put a big rock in front of the tire so he wouldn't be
run over.There was some sort of fold up luggage rack near the
rear bumper. The car pictured at the beginning of "The Model A
Story looks familiar but the article doesn't list black as a
Model A color.
