The pin did not hold the double venturi in place in the carbs I have seen - it did fit in a slot in the venturi and seems to me to have been there to keep it from rotating and keep the alignment of the "struts" holding the smaller venturi.I think the double venturi works great in my cars - great idle, smooth acceleration and good power once the jets were flow-tested to specs. and properly sized, but that's another story!
