: I have an older Johnson Messenger 123A 23 channel CB radio I would like to install in my 30 coupe with 12 negative ground system. The radio is a nice small unit.Does anyone have a simple way to permanently mount the radio either on the steering column or the floor?Any antenna hookup hints would be appreciated too.Thanks.

I'd try a gooseneck-type(not too long) mount like some of the cellphone mounts and lag or through-bolt it to the plywood
floor. The antenna is not going to be pretty. The best working antenna for 27 mHz CB is going to be about 9 feet long. You might be able to do a chain type mount to the rear bumper with
the 9 footer or a magnet mount and a center or base loaded antenna, with decreased performance, at some other location on the vehicle. I am not sure what you'll run into with ignition noise. Have fun.Eric
