: It's a series-wound field motor, so when you reverse the polarity, it still runs the same way (since the armature and fields reverse polarity together).On 12V it does sound like a bear in heat.Mine is a Stewart-Warner horn and turns clockwise viewed from the front of the horn (which is also the best position to hear it a little too clearly).
