If you want the best converter you can find, go to your local electronics supplier and ask if they carry Tripplite products.At one time they made a beautiful unit that accepted 6 volts pos or neg input and put out pos or neg 12V at about 10A.This unit cost about $100.But it is rugged and should last forever.The problem is I don't know if its still available.
