: I've got a body for a 1930 Model A roadster, and am wondering what frame would best fit it to make a rod.

Wow!That question opens up a LOT of territory. Here's my $.02 on it...
The BEST choice for a rod would be a new chassis.Of course this depends on your budget. TCI and a whole bunch of manufacturers make them.Get a copy of Street Rodder or Hot Rod magazine and take a look. The new chassis will allow you to use virtually any front and rear ends you want.

If you're doing this on a real tight budget, a stock 30-31 frame with some boxing of the chassis will work, especially if you're not going to use a huge engine.Lots of front/rear ends are also available for this setup; you'll just need to do a little welding to get components mounted properly.

Check out the Street Rodder Message Board Dale has here too - you'll probably have more in common with them than we "purists" here.

If you'd like to chat directly with me, send me a message; I'm building a "resto-rod" from a 31 Fordor using a stock frame.
