: : I am desperate need of the formula's for gray -green and aqua green in acrylic laquer. These are colors out of the newest model a repaint manual , but there are no formulas listed with them. I am not having any luck getting my local paint dist. to match them off of the chips. Also, does anyone know what color Bruce Bone's A-400 national show winner is painted ? I saw this car in Hershey a few years ago but have not seen the colors's it was painted in any Model A paint guides.
: : Thanks
: Mike, I too have seen Bruce Bone's outstanding A-400. I don't know the colors without trying to look them up in the Judging Standards (which I will do if you need me to) but you can call Bruce at 2333 Timberbrook Trail Fort Wayne, IN 46845 PH: 219-637-5693. Our local paint dealers have been to computer match the colors. They are not exact, but are the closest match to a color they have a formula to mix. Some matches are better than others. I have a set of paint chips from the NC paint supplier mentioned earlier and they have some colors which others do not have available. Their colors match well with my original paint chips. Good Luck.
Thanks Jim,
I was able to contact Bruce who gave me the name and number of the shop that painted his car. From what I have been able to find out, the color listed in the standard is not even close to the chip sample in the MAFCA paint guide. There are broad ranges of colors and shades of all the colors listed in the paint guide. This looks like an area that the national clubs need to address. THANKS
