When I recently timed my engine, the timing pin just barely drops into the indent on the timing gear suggesting that the indent is very shallow.Has anyone tried to deepen the indent by removing the pin from the indent, inserting a drill and making the indent a little deeper?Or do you have a better way without disassembly? As an aid in future timing, I made a long right angle bracket with a pointer on the end of it, bolted it to the top bolt of the timing gear cover, and put a small dab of white paint on the pully adjacent to the pointer of the bracket.Haven't tried using it yet, but it seemed like a good idea at the time.
